Product description
Calendula Flowers are dried yellow-to-orange flowers obtained from Calendula officinalis. They are used in cosmetic formulations for their botanical appearance, mild herbal aroma and skin-conditioning properties.
Calendula should not be confused with African or French marigold, which belongs to the Tagetes genus and requires a different INCI declaration.

Applications
Suitable for soaps, bath salts, bath teas, body scrubs, facial masks, cleansing powders, infused oils, balms, body butters, massage oils and decorative botanical products.
Formulation guidance
Use finely ground and sieved calendula for facial products to reduce physical irritation. Whole petals may be added directly to dry or anhydrous products, but they can turn brown or lose colour when exposed to heat or high-pH soap formulations.
For calendula-infused oil, completely dry the flowers before infusion and filter them thoroughly. The finished oil should normally declare both the carrier oil and calendula extract. For example:

Do not label an ordinary sunflower- or olive-oil infusion simply as “Calendula Oil.” Calendula Officinalis Flower Oil is a separate recognized ingredient with skin-conditioning and fragrance functions.
