Formulation guidance

Add lavender buds during the cool-down stage whenever possible. Whole buds can become brown in high-pH products such as cold-process soap. Avoid placing large or coarse buds in facial products because they may feel abrasive.

Dried botanicals can introduce microorganisms into water-based formulations. Use cosmetic-grade material, apply appropriate preservation and conduct stability and microbial testing.
